Bike Style: Becky Katz

IMG_2452 IMG_6676 The appointment last October of Becky Katz to become Atlanta's first Chief Bicycle Officer has drawn notice far and wide. Here she is on page 80 of the Momentum Magazine Spring issue. "I love how connected I feel with Atlanta when riding my bike. I get to see the sites, smell the smells, and interact with the city around me."

September|October Momentum Magazine

IMG_7401 The best fashion show is definitely on the street. Always has been. Always will be, quoth Bill Cunningham, and was chosen by the editors of Momentum Magazine to introduce their feature, 'Global Bike Style On The Street'. Their choices celebrate humanity via the daily lives of people who ride bikes. Memorable folk from Nepal, Havanna, Mexico City, Tokyo, Toronto, and, yes, Atlanta, grace as many pages.

Of Bike + Style And A New Blog

IMG_6781 This portrait of a good friend to Atlanta Street Fashion now graces pages 38 and 39 of the July|August Momentum Magazine. Once again it is my pleasure to share with the larger cycling community what we are doing in Georgia.
Blogger Jess Smith of Lady Flashback lent Atlanta Bicycle Chic a strong start when her posting was blogrolled by Copenhagen Cycle Chic. Now she has joined forces with Editor Sarah Lawrence of Paste Magazine to produce I SPY ATL. Their exploration of the Atlanta zeitgeist offers both a listening ear and gives voice to the neighborhoods and neighbors that make our city a vibrant home.

Savannah Cycling, Part II

IMG_0543 IMG_0425 IMG_0365 IMG_0528 Redbook is not the only magazine to feature my photography this season. The spring issue of Momentum takes a look at cycling in Georgia's first city, Savannah. Such an assignment I could not refuse. First imagined by General Oglethorpe for agriculture, commerce and defense, the network of traffic-calming squares conspires with a balmy climate and flat terrain to make the town a cyclists' paradise 280 years on. Everyone rides and few bother with helmets. For two lovely December days, I was one of them.

Cycling In Sunny Savannah

IMG_0682 IMG_0686 IMG_0678 It seems that many of you are surfing this soggy New Year's Day, so here is a memory of my visit to Savannah one month ago.
