Atlanta Bicycle Commuters
Being caught in the deluge from this lowering sky lent me a temporary feeling of solidarity with bicycle commuters. While my car-to-MARTA-to-bike solution has found a multitude of stylish folk for the both blogs, I remain a fair weather cyclist. To those for whom such risks are daily fare, the rewards are equally dramatic. A long-time friend of the blogs encountered Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter during her BeltLine ride to Cabbagetown for last night's celebration of the new, Ikea designed Atlanta Bicycle Coalition headquarters. Your experiences as 'roll models' would distinguish this forum from Atlanta Street Fashion. In the spirit of advocacy, let's suspend anonymity and go deeper than outfit details to explore our common goal of developing a happier, safer cycling culture. Interested? Email me.

On The Road: Bike Share In Chattanooga
photo credit: kindness of a stranger
Yes, it was a warm day to try Bike Chattanooga, but I'll ride again any time. Three hundred bikes at thirty stations and a superb network of trails ensure its popularity. Please follow this link to read about plans for Atlanta-Decatur Bike Share.

In Oakland Cemetery: Tunes From The Tombs
On my way to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's valet parking service, I met this cyclist and her 1967 vintage Raleigh. It's 70's basket recalls that era of Flower Power. Her look is an eclectic mix of Bill Hallman blouse, Anthropologie shorts, Target shoes and Kate Spade bag.

Save The Date: Saturday
What better way to celebrate the season than a tour of four Park Pride Community Gardens? While there is an air conditioned bus option, The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition invites you to ride with them on Saturday, June 8. The fun begins and ends at Garden*Hood in Grant Park with a departure time of 4 pm. See you there!
