Of Pints, Popsicles and a Picnic
How did the ride organizers manage the weather so splendidly? "We did a rain dance," explained Kyle Torok. It must've been a sight, because Saturday's weepy skies gave way to a cool, dry Sunday. Fare-thee-well, summertime!

At The Piedmont Park Green Market
for the Love of trees and all things that float in the breeze
must have inspired both jeweler Kelly Bertelson Banks and the butterfly, which briefly alighted on a pepper this magical morning when nature and art converged in Piedmont Park. Mottled reds and golds are achieved by first super heating copper, then cooling it rapidly in water. Yes, that is a bicycle cable encircling a pendant chosen to complement the earrings. Even preserved in resin, those leaves still sway when she walks. Ms. Banks and her husband pedaled to the park, towing her jewels and his cooler full of basil pesto on a trailer that he rebuilt.
