People For Bikes: The August Survey

IMG_9681 IMG_9672 IMG_9678 As part of a nationwide survey, People For Bikes has asked local cycling advocates to select prominent spots for counting ridership on third Thursdays monthly between 4:30 and 5:30. For us that would be the Tenth Street cycle track, where these folks were seen last week. The August theme was kids and we sent them some cuties. Please follow this link to see how Atlanta fared in the larger scheme.

In The Tenth Street Cycle Track

IMG_3905 IMG_3590 Writing that headline gave me such pleasure: Tenth Street Cycle Track. Now Eastside Trail riders have a lane of their own for continuing west on Tenth Street to enter Piedmont Park or turn south in their own lane governed by a signal at Charles Allen Drive. Further connectivity planning calls for more such lanes to form a north-south loop from Fourteenth Street to Ponce de Leon Avenue via Piedmont Avenue and Juniper Street. No wonder so many call the BeltLine the best thing ever to happen in Atlanta.
