The 2013 Seersucker Social

Our infectious spirit was seen and heard from Old Fourth Ward to Oakland Cemetery. At the picnic, Justin recalled meeting Nikki at the very first Seersucker Social four years ago and offered her a token of his affection. She said yes.

At The Apparel Mart: Judith March

IMG_3926 IMG_3660 From the gulf coast town of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida comes an original line of clothing "inspired by the feminine and bohemian styles of yesterday". Her embroidered bicycle brings to mind lazy summer days seaside, icecream and salt air, sand and sunscreen. Judith March

BeltLine Art: Beneath Freedom Parkway

IMG_4615 IMG_4616 IMG_4617 IMG_3903 While Atlantans await Phil Proctor's assemblage of rail hardware in the shape of a Corithian column to adorn the Eastside Trail, they are today pausing in numbers to view this framed visage beneath the Freedom Parkway overpass. It was my good fortune to meet the artist last Friday while he unloaded the elements from his bike trailer. At once both confident and modest, he promised that those bits of industrial waste and glass shards would coalesce into something memorable. Bravo!!!

In The Tenth Street Cycle Track

IMG_3905 IMG_3590 Writing that headline gave me such pleasure: Tenth Street Cycle Track. Now Eastside Trail riders have a lane of their own for continuing west on Tenth Street to enter Piedmont Park or turn south in their own lane governed by a signal at Charles Allen Drive. Further connectivity planning calls for more such lanes to form a north-south loop from Fourteenth Street to Ponce de Leon Avenue via Piedmont Avenue and Juniper Street. No wonder so many call the BeltLine the best thing ever to happen in Atlanta.
